A Pin Up Maternity Session
In June of 2015 Stacy Smith Studios had the honor of photographing a 32 person family portrait back in our hometown of Thompson, CT. The lovely young lady who set up this shoot graduated high school with me! What a great reunion it was.
I was so happy to see Christie. I remembered many of her family members but also had the pleasure of meeting her boyfriend Mike and thankfully we were able to snap some great shots of the two of them as well! The portrait was a great success overall and everyone was happy!
“You’re stuck with me now!” I explained to Christie. “Once we create something magical together that means I’m your photographer for life! So please let me know the next time you have the need to capture something important!”
You can imagine my excitement when only eight short months later Christie called me. “Guess what?” she said. I’m pregnant! Gah! Time for maternity portraits! PICK ME PICK ME! “Congratulations!”
I said. “When are you due?” “In a month,” she giggled back to me. NO WAY! Wait…it gets even better… “So, I was thinking, I want to do a pin-up style maternity session.
” YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! Poor girl, I think I started screaming and jumping up and down before she even finished her sentence! Of course I said I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to do this for her, and so the planning began….
Christie and Mike showed up on Saturday looking amazing and, needless to say, I was very excited!

Pin up girls are true “Divas.” Unapologetic beauties.
These housewives are in charge and they look good doing it. Heck, they look good doing anything….I believe Christie referred to her “ironing outfit” as her Peggie Bundy look which is hilarious and totally on point!
LAUNDRY! Oh will there be laundry when this baby girl enters the world. I think you will have plenty of opportunities to practice this look in the near future!
Now make sure you get all the good gossip from your girlfriends while you do the housework! It's tiring being beautiful! Michael, where the hell are you?
I'll go into labor hanging the baby's clothes in these heels! Get over here and help me out! Taking off these heels is NOT an option!
Sit there and hand me the clothes please! I'm too pretty to get dirty!
Happy wife, happy life! Clearly the man knows what's good for him!
Ending the session with a retro "Grease" pin-up look was perfect! I definitely know who the boss is in this relationship! After all that hard work in heels, Christie & I thought a foot rub was in order!
The best part is that Mike HATES feet!
They totally gross him out! After chasing him through the parking lot and dragging him back by his suspenders, after some kicking and screaming and maybe, just maybe some threats, he gave in! Haha!
I am so lucky to have such a great studio with all these built-in outdoor options! That's right...we never left 60 Valley St!
