RI Shriners Imperial Room: Leslie & Adam: First Wedding of 2016

Published 04/05/2016

On March 12th the Stacy Smith Studios team saddled up for our first wedding of 2016! Our last wedding was December 19th, 2015 so we were SO ready to get back into the game! Shriners Imperial Room in Cranston, Rhode Island was our destination and we had the truck packed to the ceiling!

We arrived early to set up and capture some getting ready shots! Leslie's dress, shoes, ring and bouquet were beautiful! (Hi, I'm Stacy and I'm addicted to detail shots! Gah!) I could just photograph this stuff  all day!

A few weeks before the wedding, I met Leslie at the venue for her walk through (we do this with all our couples) and she was concerned with the lack of potential formal photo areas inside of Shriners. Not to mention that even if we got a nice day, by the time the ceremony was over it would be too dark to venture outside for some shots. NOT TO WORRY!

Our exclusive Boudoir Studio is filled with awesome furniture and backdrops! Leslie & Adam's colors were gray & blush. So, we brought along a lovely gray high back love seat and a blush backdrop. Lucky for us, the "getting ready" room was already painted a raspberry mauve color which matched the blush bridesmaid dresses perfectly and we didn't even need to set up the backdrop!

Leslie's daughter Kylie was extremely excited for this big day! It was so heartwarming to see the two of them getting ready together! I love the matching kimono robes!

The furniture makes a big difference doesn't it??? This is what we do! We go above and beyond for our clients. There's no complaining or settling....we are here to make your day stress free and offer solutions! Bringing the loveseat made the pictures that much better which in turn makes our client happy and our job much easier! If you're getting married at a venue with a lack of options for formal photos especially if it rains or if you're getting married off-season, please know that we are here to help! With about ten pieces in a variety of colors available, I'm sure we can find a way to make it work!

GORGEOUS! Need I say more? She was such a breathtaking bride! The simplicity of her look allowed her natural beauty to take over.

The boys were all there early and looking handsome as ever! It was almost time....

The little girls were so adorable walking down the aisle and Adam's face when he saw his Bride appear was priceless! Leslie held back the tears as her and her Father made their way down the aisle and guests smiled from ear to ear.

Leslie gets our award for BEST KISS! Boy did she plant one on him! It was long and sweet and Adam loved every second of it! He looks good in red lipstick too! Haha! Long kisses make for the best pictures!

The stairs made for a PERFECT bridal party shot! I couldn't be happier with the way this came out!  The family photos in the foyer under the chandelier went off without a hitch and then we made our way back upstairs for some more bridal photos!

Everyone was having a great time and they were all a pleasure to work with!

It's always a joy to watch the Bride & Groom together. Their formal photos are pretty much the only "alone" time they get all day and we do everything possible to make sure they enjoy it! Incorporating movement and words into their photos really yields more genuine images. It's as if we weren't even there!

I am OBSESSED with the elevator photo by the way! I love black and whites too. When I turn a photo B&W I can really FEEL the image and all the emotion in it.

FORMAL PHOTOS....ACCOMPLISHED! Now we are off to the reception to have some fun! DJ KJ (aka Kevin Johnson, owner of Soulo Sound Productions) was busy lining everyone up for intros while we set up our lights! We shoot every wedding with off camera flash, unless we are using natural light. Our style is to only light the subject with a soft spread of light, not the background. This way, there is dimension and the people stand out from their surroundings. The results are incredible....every time!

Leslie & Adam had a beautiful first dance to the sweet song "Wanted" by Hunter Hayes. (One of my favorites and NOT overplayed!) They were totally into one another and the passion between the two of them really shows in the images.

Their parent dances were sweet as well....but the real tear jerker was Adam & Leslie's daughter, Kylie, having a special dance together! Kylie was SO excited to officially have a step-dad! She is such a beautiful, sweet little girl and I was totally that photographer on the sidelines with the tissue, I just can't help it! I just LOVE it all!

We had a blast at this wedding and so didn't all the guests! Everyone was dancing and singing thanks to Kevin who was an amazing Emcee and DJ (we highly recommend him!) I had the wide angle out and Shawn had his fish-eye lens, which always makes for some hilarious party shots!

Photographing your Big Day is truly an honor for us. When you look at your images and they bring you back to feeling it all over again....that means we did our job! Leslie and Adam could not be happier with their Sneak Peek! We guarantee our clients 500-800 finished images so they have many more coming their way!

Thank you for trusting Stacy Smith Studios  to capture these once in a lifetime moments for you. These aren't just photos....this is a legacy you're leaving behind for the people who come after you. Both you and them will treasure these keepsakes for a lifetime!
